The PSA Group has opened a Powertrain Expertise Centre (CEP) near Paris for drive development. The CEP is in line with the Group’s electrification offensive and works with the joint venture by PSA and Nidec for e-traction motors.

The new Powertrain Expertise Centre (CEP) in Carrières-sous-Poissy in the Paris region is dedicated to powertrains of all kinds. Yet the close cooperation with the PSA and Nidec joint venture called emotors that was founded last year suggests a focus on electrification.

There will be nearly 80 test benches for assessing vehicle, powertrain and motor performance. A total of €32 million has been committed to funding testing resources, and PSA expects synergies by bundling competencies of close to 1,300 employees on site.
