Mercedes has shown a concept version of the car that will compete with the BMW i3 and Volkswagen ID hatchback

Mercedes-Benz has previewed the second model in its newly established EQ electric car sub-brand with the unveiling of the sleek Concept EQA at the Frankfurt motor show.

Set to join the larger EQC previewed in concept form at last year’s Paris motor show, the EQA is planned to be the entry point to the EQ line-up when it goes on sale in 2020 with a claimed 249-mile range and a price that Mercedes officials suggest will pitch it in direct competition with the BMW i3.
